Musical: High School Musical 2 JR

Ages 11-17

Our popular musical productions are always fun and educational. We begin with relationship building and learning musical numbers. Casting will soon follow. All enrolled participants will be cast and have multiple roles, as we double cast to share speaking roles. This means there will be two separate casts, each performing on different dates/times. We want all participants to have a blast and be challenged by their experience!

Staff for this program: Director, Music Director, Stage Manager, Choreographer

Note: We do not audition for entry to this program. All registrants will be accepted provided payment has been received, or payment arrangements have been made, and the participant and their parent/legal guardian have provided required information, read our policies, and signed our Actor’s Agreement. Our musical rehearsal process allows for many hours of coaching and guidance in:

• acting/performing

COMMITMENT AND EXPECTATIONS

Attendance is an important part of the rehearsal process. Actors work as an ensemble and rely on one another to be there. If an actor will be missing multiple rehearsals or any time during Show Week, they should not register for the program. Show Week for this production requires three weekday performances.

Rehearsals:

• January 21st - May 9th, 2027

• Thursdays 6:30pm-9pm, Sundays 2:30-5:30pm

• No rehearsal: Feb 14; March 14-28

• Location: Rockway Public School, Kitchener

Show Week:

• May 10th-15th, 2027

  • 10th & 11th evening Dress Rehearsal

  • 12th-15th matinees & evening shows

• Show Week attendance is mandatory for all rehearsals and performances. Actors will be absent from school to perform in school shows May 12th-14th.

• Cambridge Arts Theatre 47 Water St S, Cambridge, ON

• Performance length approx. 60 minutes, longer with intermission

• Photography/Videography of performances is not permitted. Photos of actors on stage and in costume may be taken after a performance.

• There will be a maximum of 35 participants to ensure that all actors will have time to shine on stage.

Financial Assistance Available: actOUT! acknowledges the role of theatre/drama in the personal, physical and emotional development of a child/youth. It is the philosophy of actOUT! that no child/youth should be turned away from recreational activities due to cost or affordability.

Rockin’ songs, action-packed dance numbers and ample opportunities to highlight a strong ensemble make this an ideal show for young actors. Jump into the pool with the Wildcats as you swim along with this crowd-pleasing, fun-filled charmer!

High School Musical 2 JR is to be presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI.
