Live On Air! Audio Drama

Ages: 11-17* years

This class will focus on voice acting alongside the ins and outs of performing in an audio drama! Not only will participants discover how to stretch their acting skills when no one can see them, they'll also experience the excitement of performing live on air! Every session will be unique with actors choosing scripts and/or creating their own material for their 20-30 minute broadcast. Participants may also choose to experiment with foley/sound effects. Many skills learned will be transferrable for those wanting to make their own audio content. We will not be teaching about editing, streaming, etc.

The performance will be broadcast on CKMS 102.7 FM Radio Waterloo, a local radio station with fantastic local programming, during the last class of each session.

Attendance is an important part of the process. Actors work as an ensemble and rely on one another to be there. If an actor cannot attend all classes and the broadcast, they should not register for the program.

No experience required - beginners welcome!

*Note: younger actors may be admitted if recommended by an actOUT! Director/Instructor/Camp Counsellor
