One-Act Comedy

Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon

Ages 11*-17

Our one-acts are chosen to give new or busy actors a shorter rehearsal period and shorter Show Week in the spring. This program begin with group bonding activities and cast early. All enrolled participants will be cast. The Director may choose to double-cast if we have a large cast. We want all participants to have fun and grow as part of their experience! This is a great first production for new actors.

Note: We do not audition for entry to this program. All registrants will be accepted provided payment has been received, or payment arrangements have been made, and the participant and their parent/legal guardian have provided required information, read our policies, and signed our Actor’s Agreement. We strive to provide a welcoming and safe environment to all children and youth regardless of gender, sex, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religion, socioeconomic status, neurodiversity, and physical ability.

COMMITMENT AND EXPECTATIONS

Attendance is an important part of the rehearsal process, especially for this production. Actors work as an ensemble and rely on one another to be there. If an actor will be missing multiple rehearsals or any time during Show Week, they should not register for the program. Show Week for this production does not require any weekday rehearsals/performances.

209 fairytales in less than an hour?

Two narrators attempt to recreate all 209 of the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm in a wild, fast-paced extravaganza. To make it more difficult, they attempt to combine them into one gigantic fable using Rapunzel, Rumpelstiltskin, Hansel and Gretel, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and other more obscure stories like Lean Lisa and The Devil’s Grandmother. A wild, free-form comedy with lots of madcap fun.

Borthers Grimm Spectaculathon is to be presented through special arrangement with Concord Theatrical.
