Live on Air! Audio Drama Program

Have you ever wanted to do a podcast? Learn voice acting? Or maybe you want to try acting but aren’t quite ready to get up on stage?

This program is for you!

Our popular productions are always fun and educational. All enrolled participants will be cast and may have multiple roles. We want all participants to have a blast and be challenged by their experience!

Note: We do not audition for entry to this program. All registrants will be accepted provided payment has been received, or payment arrangements have been made, and the participant and their parent/legal guardian have signed our Actor’s Agreement and completed our online Info Form/Waiver. We strive to provide a welcoming and safe environment to all children and youth regardless of gender, sex, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religion, socioeconomic status, neurodiversity, and physical ability.

COMMITMENT AND EXPECTATIONS

Attendance is an important part of the rehearsal process. Actors work as an ensemble and rely on one another to be there. If an actor will be missing multiple rehearsals or any time during live Performances, they should not register for the program. The air date for this program has not been fixed, so let us know if an actor may have unavailable time in April.

Actors and caregivers will be provided with expectations via a mandatory online form and our Actor’s Agreement.

The Canterville Ghost and more…

This new program will focus on voice acting alongside the ins and outs of performing in an audio drama! Comedic and mysterious, not only will participants discover how to stretch their acting skills when no one can see them, they'll also experience the excitement of performing live. Limited space is available for aspiring foley/sound effects artists to join us and experiment with sound!

Our performance will feature a radio play version of Oscar Wilde's comedic short story The Canterville Ghost

The Otis family has just moved to Canterville Chase, which has been haunted since the 16th century, and discover that the bloodstain in the library cannot be removed...

In addition, we will have short mystery dramas and fictional ads (written by the participants) to rehearse and fill out our run time.

The Canterville Ghost (adapted from the short story by Oscar Wilde) will be performed with permission from Deborah Baldwin, author of We're Live! Radio Theater #101.

Many skills learned will be transferrable for those wanting to make their own audio content. We will not be teaching about editing, streaming, etc.

Perform Live on the Air

We are working to determine an exact air date. The performance will be broadcast on CKMS 102.7 FM Radio Waterloo, a local radio station with fantastic local programming. Participants will learn more about how they operate and how a radio broadcast comes together.
