EMILY WEIR

Emily Wier

 

 

Emily Weir and her love of performing started at at a young age when she was chosen in the lead role of Odyssey in a musical called Twinkling Among the Stars, performed at Sheppard Public School. Right after Emily auditioned and starting performing with actOUT!, capturing the roles of Molly in Annie, Anne in Anne of Green Gables and Wendy in Peter Pan.  Emily has since performed numerous productions with K-W Musical Productions, The Community Players, Drayton Entertainment, and The River Run Centre. Emily has gone on to Humber College for Acting, Film and Television. Emily has performed anthems numerous times for the Kitchener Rangers and Waterloo Siskins. Emily encourages all young and old to follow their passion and dreams into the arts/performing world. ActOUT! was an excellent partner for Emily to help her own passion and dreams. 


ETHAN IOANNIDIS

Ethan Ioannidis

in 2009,when he was only 8 years old, Ethan Ioannidis was bitten by the acting bug upon joining  actOUT!. His first role was the Sultan in actOUT!’s production of Aladdin Jr. Ethan did a few more shows including the lead role in James and the Giant Peach.  In 2011, he was hired by, the Stratford Festival to play the part of the Young Duke of York in Richard the III. He has appeared in short films and commercials.  He played in his second season with the Stratford Festival in their performance of Waiting for Godot. Ethan credits actOUT! as being the place that encouraged him to do his best, reach for his dreams, and believe in himself. 


JO JO WORTHINGTON

JoJo Worthington

Breakout artist JoJo Worthington, from Waterloo Ontario, Canada, is known for her avid songwriting on the ukulele. From ages nine through fifteen, she appeared in musicals with actOUT!. She wrote her own songs on the guitar and formed the local band named More Than Robots. She spend her high school years at Eastwood Collegiate Institute, enrolled in the Integrated Arts Program, from which she graduated as an Ontario scholar. In 2012, JoJo released her debut EP, SOON. In 2015, she won the Songwriters Hall of Fame Award for her work.


AJ BRIDEL

AJ Bridel

with another actOUT! alumnus Noah Hryniuk

AJ Bridel got her start in musical theatre at age 11 with actOUT! appearing in five productions with us in two and a half years. Today AJ has gone on to place third overall in the Over the Rainbow television competition and performed in multiple productions with K-W Musical Players and Drayton Entertainment. She won the 2016 Toronto Critics Award and was nominated for a Dora Award for her performance as Lauren in Mirvish Productions' staging of Kinky Boots. AJ has recently been heard as a voice actor in several animated series.

 


JOHN McGILL

John McGill 

John McGill pursued his B.F.A. in musical theatre at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. ActOUT! helped foster his love for performing. After actOUT! he has performed with Royal City Musical Productions and K-W Musical Productions. John holds tons of great memories from actOUT!'s shows X-Mas Files, Wizard of Oz and The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.


Audrey Guo

Loran Award Winner

Audrey Guo was in Peter Pan and A Midsummer Night’s Dream and came back to be a volunteer instructor with ActOUT!. She is currently attending McGill University in Montreal in the Faculty of Arts program. She won the Loran Award and we are so proud of her.


Rachel Matthews

Rachel Matthews an allumna of actOUT!, Rachel acted in several actOUT! productions, including Peter Pan and The Tragedy of Macbeth. Previously, Rachel volunteered as a camp coordinator. Additionally, she worked as the assistant director of She Kills Monsters: YAE and was the assistant stage manager of 101 Dalmatians KIDS. Outside of actOUT!, Rachel directed and acted in several productions throughout her time in high school. Rachel is currently to pursuing her theatrical passions at Bishop's University with eyes on becoming a dramatic arts teacher.
